Dear family and friends,
The past two weeks have been pretty slow. I got really sick then Sister Jex ended up getting sick so we have been down for like a week in a half. It's always so hard to be sick as a missionary because you feel like your are a terrible missionary and that you aren't being
diligent. Sometimes it would be nice that we could be fine all the time and just be able to have no interruptions and nothing getting in our way from being the best missionaries we can be but there has to be opposition in all things right? This to shall pass!! Have faith, have
hope :)
We had zone conference this week, it was great!!! We had some great training's!! We had a worldwide missionary broadcast a little while ago and we were trained more on that. We talked about teaching repentance and baptizing converts. Sister Johnson talked about how important it is to teach with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost needs to be the senior companion in all things. The Holy Ghost is the teacher and we are the conduit. It is so easy to get in the way of the Holy Ghost but we have to remember that He is the one who converts people not us. We also talked about the importance of teaching the doctrine of Christ, we
teach it, they have faith unto repentance and then we invite them to act! It's simple we are there to teach, testify, and invite. That I think is the hard things because we invite them and help them but all people have their own agency and sometimes people's choices aren't the choices you wanted them to make. I have learned to rely on God and rely on the help and guidance He gives me!! We also were trained on the new Easter initiative. It is an amazing video and I invite you all to watch it and to share it with as many people you can, it's amazing!!!
I had a cool experience yesterday. Sister Jex was napping because she wasn't feeling good so I was able to have a few hours to do some personal study. I was watching the Easter video over and over and I was trying to learn something from it and just pondering it. The sixth
or seventh time I watched it I thought to myself, how have I found new life through Jesus Christ? I pondered on my life and if I wouldn't have found Jesus Christ and applied His atonement in my life I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be a missionary living the gospel. I would not be able to find the happiness I have now, I wouldn't have the joy I do, I think I would just be lost, wouldn't be able to find my way. I would never change it for the world. I truly have been able to find new life through Christ. It amazes me of the changes we can all make to become a better person and be able to be made alive, be made whole!! It was a neat spiritual experience I had. I am just so grateful that I listened to the council of my parents and leaders to make the changes I needed to so I could be worthy and be able to be here on a mission!! We can all find a new life and be made alive again!!!!
I know that it may not be easy sometimes to live the gospel and be the most obedient we can be but it is truly all worth it! Yesterday we were visiting with one of our less-actives and she has been struggling with some things lately and with the mistakes she has made recently. She said that she knows the gospel is true because she wouldn't feel this guilty for making the mistake she did. It's all true! There is no doubt in my mind that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here on the earth, the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and is the keystone to our religion and our life, if we abide to its precepts we will prosper, I know that Jesus Christ lives, He loves us and is there for us no matter what, I love Him so much and
would not be the person I am today without Him. I have seen so many witnesses that He lives and loves ALL His children, I can never ever deny it! I love the opportunity I have to be a missionary at this time to share the good news of the gospel, there is no place I'd rather be.
I love you all to the moon and back!!!
Have a fantastic week :):)
Love, Sister Wadsworth
