April 4, 2016

Subject: Update April 4,2016: Goodbyes and Hellos!!
Hey family and friends!!!

Oh my! This week has gone by soooo fast. I am LOVING it here in State
College, it so so different than any other area I have been in. We
walk so much and ride the bus at least 2-4 times a day. I love being
in a walk area because we literally can talk to everyone! Even on the
bus :) It's so much fun! It makes it nice to just forget yourself and
go to work and share the gospel with everyone. I'm not saying everyone
is open to talking with us and there have been some pretty fun
experiences talking to people but I know that if we try our best the
Lord is proud of us and we are still striving to fulfill our purpose!!

Saying goodbye to the people in Butler was not my favorite thing. I
will miss them so much but I know that I will be able to see them
again, cough cough mom and dad, trip maybe? Hahaha. I truly did gain
great relationships and lifelong friends and will love the people in
Butler forever!! Butler was a great place to serve and we learned a
lot from that area, had some fun experiences, and saw a lot of
different things we wouldn't expect to see! Never a dull moment in
Butler :) We got to experience court and lots of fun things!! I will
miss serving with Sister Jex, she was a beer companion!!!! I can't
believe she goes home in 5 weeks... We will see each other at college
:)

I have never talked to so many people in one week, and never knocked
on so many doors my entire life!! Yes, we do a lot of tracting ;) It's
fun though! We get to see a lot of diversity, it is really neat to see
how many cultures there are. It amazes me to see the Lords hand it all
things because we are told that the gospel is going to be perched to
all nations. There are people here from all nations!! We get to see
people from all over the world. The Lord knows what we need, where we
need to be, and with who we need to be with! He loves us. Missionary
life is the best and I never want it to end!!! On Friday we did what's
called forums, not is where we stand outside in front of the library
and talk to everyone who passes. It was so fun :):) We got to talk to
so many people! It's just the best!

So general conference this weekend was truly remarkable. I was filled
with the spirit and received many answers I was looking for. I loved
how many people spoke about how this truly is Christ's Chechen here in
the earth today. We are so blessed to have the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, we have the proper authority given by Jesus
Christ Himself. We have the best message anyone will ever hear. We
have the opportunity to live with our families for eternity if we are
obedient to the commandments and the covenants we make.  It's amazing
and I know it's true!!!! If it weren't I would not be out here trying
to tell everyone about it. God loves us, we need to love Him and
defiantly need to love others.

Well I love you all to the moon and back!!! Hope yinz have a great
week :) Keep pressing forward saints, the Lord will guide! D&C 18:18

Hello there family and friends!!

This week has been full of service! Tuesday we went and gave out produce for people for a couple hours. It was fun :) Thursday morning we went and helped at the food bank. It is a new place we are volunteering at, and they let us talk about gospel related things. It is actually a religion based food bank so we listen to gospel music and talk about how great God is!! Its awesome :) Oh they had these super cute puppies there and I got to hold one, they were so cute! After the food bank we went and helped at Katies Kitchen. There were a lot of people who came to get food because it is the 4th week and food stamps are running low. The last few weeks are usually pretty busy. Katies volunteers are like a family, it's the best!! On Saturday we went and helped someone move. We were there for like 21/2 hours and all we moved was their food storage! THEY HAD SO MUCH FOOD STORAGE! After that we went and helped the Sanders with some yard work. They have a beautiful home!!!! We helped them plant some trees, lay mulch, and put in some yard decorations. It was lots of fun :)

Well Saturday I found out that I am getting transferred. I will be serving in State College. It is a university town. I will be serving in a YSA branch. It is a walk area!!! I am seriously soooo excited! I have wanted to serve there my whole mission! I especially wanted to end my mission there mainly because it is a walk area! hahaha But truly I am so excited and I know that this is where the Lord wants me to go. I have a little bit of anxiety but change always gives me anxiety... It will be good and I am going to work super hard, sprint to the finish line as dad tells me :) I am ready to forget myself for the next 18 weeks and work the hardest I EVER have! It's going to be good!!!!

We had the opportunity to attend the Women's General Broadcast on Saturday night at the church and it was a great meeting!!! Those of you who weren't able to watch it I advise you to go watch it!! It was really good and the speakers were great :) I was able to have some questions answered!! I love the analogy that Sister Esplin gave us, she talked about talking to people and how we should talk through the window and not at the mirror, meaning that we cant be focused on ourselves! When we are talking through the window we are focusing on what the person is talking about, we are listening. When we talk in the mirror we don't have much care about others and are selfish! We don't need to worry about ourselves, forget yourself and go to work! We must develop bedrock faith as Sister Marriott tells us to do. Faith is essential!! Almost everything we do requires faith! I love that :) Missions can be real tuff at times but truly the best thing anyone can do!! There are so many opportunities to grow and become a better, stronger person in the Faith of Christ.

Well I love you all so much!!!! Have a great week :) To the moon and back!

PS. sorry it's a little short this week.

Hello family and friends!!

Happy Easter to all :) I hope that the Easter Bunny treats you well! This time of year is a great opportunity to remember the life of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us. I defiantly be the person I am today without Him!! I am so grateful for Him in my life and for the opportunity that I have to see Him work in other peoples lives. Missionaries have a front row seat to the greatest work of all!! :)

This week we went and visited a less-active that we have never visited before. I don't know if you have ever heard of the PA ramble but it is a real thing! We were there for like 21/2 hours. She defiantly needed someone to visit with her though. She is such a sweet lady! We tried to share a video with her and she was talking through the whole thing and when it was over she looked at it and said "Oh! I think the video is over." Hahaha it was so funny!!! :) She was so good at smooth transitions. She talked about how when she was a little girl they grew all their food and butchered their own animals on the kitchen table. It was fun! She even came to church on Sunday!! On Saturday we were able to help out at the pinewood derby. It was fun! We were the "judges." :)

I have a feeling that I might be leaving Butler, not positive though.. It is sad to think about leaving this area, I love it so much!! Butler is truly and amazing area, even though we see a lot of crazy things happen! Its so much fun :) We have done a lot of service and I always love being able to do serve. It is a time where I truly forget myself and focus completely on someone else and help them in any way! I always ask people if they need anything and I love when they say that they would love to have our help because that helps me get to know them more and be able to have a better relationship with people! I just love service so much and Butler has defiantly given me the chance to serve others a lot! I love the people here so much too!!! The members are so welcoming and make you feel at home, its the best :) Even though we haven't had a lot of people to teach I truly do see the light of Christ in people. I have learned how important it is to see someone to their full potential, in their temple whites. Butler has opened my eyes to this concept because we see many different people with A LOT of problems but it just amazes me of how much Christ truly loves His flock. Some people I would be scared to talk to our look at but Christ has softened my heart and through lots of prayer I get to see a little glimpse of who people are through Gods eyes. I know that God loves all of us and if we pray for His help He will be there! Butler is just amazing! I love being able to serve with Sister Jex, she is amazing!!! I love her so much :) We have had so much fun together! I am sure going to miss her when she goes home... I never thought that I would get the chance to serve with her, it truly has been a blessing! We have learned and grown so much from each other, at least I have of her. She is a great missionary!!

I love you all and hope that you have a great week :):) To the moon and back!!

March 14, 2016

Dear family and friends,

The past two weeks have been pretty slow. I got really sick then Sister Jex ended up getting sick so we have been down for like a week in a half. It's always so hard to be sick as a missionary because you feel like your are a terrible missionary and that you aren't being
diligent. Sometimes it would be nice that we could be fine all the time and just be able to have no interruptions and nothing getting in our way from being the best missionaries we can be but there has to be opposition in all things right? This to shall pass!! Have faith, have
hope :)

We had zone conference this week, it was great!!! We had some great training's!! We had a worldwide missionary broadcast a little while ago and we were trained more on that. We talked about teaching repentance and baptizing converts. Sister Johnson talked about how important it is to teach with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost needs to be the senior companion in all things. The Holy Ghost is the teacher and we are the conduit. It is so easy to get in the way of the Holy Ghost but we have to remember that He is the one who converts people not us. We also talked about the importance of teaching the doctrine of Christ, we
teach it, they have faith unto repentance and then we invite them to act! It's simple we are there to teach, testify, and invite. That I think is the hard things because we invite them and help them but all people have their own agency and sometimes people's choices aren't the choices you wanted them to make. I have learned to rely on God and rely on the help and guidance He gives me!! We also were trained on the new Easter initiative. It is an amazing video and I invite you all to watch it and to share it with as many people you can, it's amazing!!!

I had a cool experience yesterday. Sister Jex was napping because she wasn't feeling good so I was able to have a few hours to do some personal study. I was watching the Easter video over and over and I was trying to learn something from it and just pondering it. The sixth
or seventh time I watched it I thought to myself, how have I found new life through Jesus Christ? I pondered on my life and if I wouldn't have found Jesus Christ and applied His atonement in my life I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be a missionary living the gospel. I would not be able to find the happiness I have now, I wouldn't have the joy I do, I think I would just be lost, wouldn't be able to find my way. I would never change it for the world. I truly have been able to find new life through Christ. It amazes me of the changes we can all make to become a better person and be able to be made alive, be made whole!! It was a neat spiritual experience I had. I am just so grateful that I listened to the council of my parents and leaders to make the changes I needed to so I could be worthy and be able to be here on a mission!! We can all find a new life and be made alive again!!!!

I know that it may not be easy sometimes to live the gospel and be the most obedient we can be but it is truly all worth it! Yesterday we were visiting with one of our less-actives and she has been struggling with some things lately and with the mistakes she has made recently. She said that she knows the gospel is true because she wouldn't feel this guilty for making the mistake she did. It's all true! There is no doubt in my mind that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here on the earth, the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and is the keystone to our religion and our life, if we abide to its precepts we will prosper, I know that Jesus Christ lives, He loves us and is there for us no matter what, I love Him so much and
would not be the person I am today without Him. I have seen so many witnesses that He lives and loves ALL His children, I can never ever deny it! I love the opportunity I have to be a missionary at this time to share the good news of the gospel, there is no place I'd rather be.
I love you all to the moon and back!!!

Have a fantastic week :):)
