October 26, 2015

Hey family and friends!!

Well this week was kinda a tough one.. We dropped some of our investigators so our teaching pool is more of a teaching puddle right now! haha :) We are going to work super hard this week on finding new investigators!!! We were able to have a lot of less-active visits though :) Our investigator who was in the psychiatric hospital got out and went back home but she ended up relapsing pretty bad and went to the ER last night and is probably going back and then to rehab afterwards, hopefully!! We know that it can help her so much!!! She texted us yesterday and told us that she was really struggling it was so hard, I can't even begin to describe to you how I felt. I was super worried about her and I ended up dropping to knees and pouring out my heart to Heavenly Father and asking Him to help me. I was comforted and sure enough, prayers were answered by that night when we found that she was in the hospital getting the help she needed. I can't tell you enough of how much prayer should mean to us and that we should apply the principle of prayer in our daily lives!! I know that prayer is so important and I am so grateful for the power of prayer. I probably wouldn't be here still if prayers weren't answered!! I encourage all of you to start praying morning and night and throughout the day if you aren't doing it already. I promise you that it will help you with whatever you may be doing, it has helped me so much :):)
One of our less-actives we saw this week is progressing. We saw her on Wednesday and she had studied the scriptures and she found some scriptures that she related to what we believe in. She has been feeling the spirit and is liking it :) Who doesn't like feeling the spirit right? haha :) It was so awesome to just the spirit guide us to say what was needed! It was great :):)

This past week I was studying about the life of Paul a little bit. Paul is such an amazing man and missionary. He went through SOOO much but he kept on going. I really do look up to him. Missionary life is hard and sometimes you get to the point that you want to give up and be done with everything!! But just like Paul we have to stick through in relying on the Lord and He will help us. I know this concept to be very very true! Relying on the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ helps us sooo much!!! Look at Paul, he was a Pharisee and went about persecuting the Christians and then he changed and he became an Apostle of the Lord, and he endured through all the personal persecution he received!! I love his story so much and I have been trying to apply what I have learned from Paul's story. It is amazing to read what he did and to ponder on it. I love having the opportunity to study and ponder on the scriptures everyday!!! It is such a blessing to have a set time to study everyday! I love it so much and I have learned a ton from studying :):) It has been great!!!

Well I hope you are all doing good and I hope that you have a great week!!! Love you to the moon and back!

Love,
Sister Kierra Wadsworth

Hey family and friends!!!

This week has been so great!!! Sister Wilson and I get a long soooo great :):) We are the best of friends!! I was super worried to have her as a companion but I really didn't need to worry. The Lord truly knows what we need!! It is been sooo good I love it!!! :)

So our investigator that is has been in the hospital called us on Saturday, that was the first time we were able to talk with her all week. It was so great to be able to talk with her. It was truly a miracle!!! We were soooo happy to talk to her. She is really struggling right now and it is so hard to see her go through this. But we know that it will strengthen her and help her rely on the Atonement of Christ. She is probably going to rehab to help her and we know that she will be ok and it will all work out!! It is so hard to see someone that we love sooo much struggling and having Satan work on them so hard to bring them down.. But we know that she will become such a better person because of this and when her baptism happens she will be so prepared!!! It reminds me of Ether 12:27, it is soo true :):)

One of our less-actives that we have been working with for the past little while is starting to open up more!! She is doing better than when we first started visiting her. She is truly so amazing!!! I love her so much, I feel just a little bit of how much our Father in Heaven loves her. She is special to Him. We have some members that have come out with us to visit her and they are truly so good for her. They are awesome and key in her coming back. Members are truly the most important thing in missionary work. Missionaries are only in an area for a short time and those who we work with need to have friends in the ward so they aren't converting for the missionary and when the missionary leaves the person will continue in their conversion. I love working with the members :)

Well this week I finished reading the Book of Mormon. It was sooooo amazing!!!! I love the Book of Mormon so much!! It was the first time that I really studied it. I was able to get so much out of it :) Through out the whole time I was studying it I would pray and ask questions and I received them by reading and studying more. When I finished reading it I asked Heavenly Father again if the Book of Mormon is true. Let me tell you all that I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith translated by the power of God, I know that Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and only through Him and His Atonement can we get back to our Father in Heaven again through being faithful to Him and striving to become like Him and His Son Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life and for the many great examples that I have all around me. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true and only true church on the earth today. I can bring anyone happiness if they heed to the council given to us!! I love being a missionary so much, I really do mean that. Ya sometimes its hard and I want to give up but it has blessed my life in immeasurable ways!!! We truly do carry the best message anyone will ever hear around with us!!!

Well I hope you are all doing great!! I love you so much :) Have a fantastic week!!!

Love Sister Kierra Wadsworth!!

PS. Broncos are 6-0!!!!! They are #1 :) hahahhahaha

October 12, 2015

Hey family and friends!!

This week has begun a new transfer, a new companion, and lots of "see you later's."

My new companion is Sister Mara Wilson. She is from Tuscon Arizona. She is 20 years old. She has been out for 7 month now. She came out with Sister Blake. Ephrata is her third area, I'm her fourth companion. She has 10 siblings (4 biological and 6 new step siblings). Her mom remarried since she has been on her mission. She has never met the guy haha!! She is very happy about it though. She is very similar to Sister Blake. It is going to be ggod but this probably means that I am leaving Ephrata the next transfer so that is really sad :(

We had transfers on Tuesday and I had to say goodbye/see you later to Sister Zaugg and some of the missionaries from my district and that was really hard, I did cry a lot... It was just and emotional couple of days for me because I was super nervous to get a new companion and there was a lot of change to our district. We were seriously so close ad a lot of people got transferred then President Johnson took out a companionship out of our district and it was super sad!! We got torn up! But I know that everything will work out! This is what the Lord wants so I am going to do it with a good attitude because I know it will all be ok!

Well this week was good for Sister Wilson and I. We were able to have some good lessons. One of our investigators ended up going to a hospital and is really struggling right now. I love this person soooo much and when you love someone so much it is really hard to see them struggling. I have truly come to love prayer because of it, it has helped me so much throughout my mission. I was able to testify to our investigator with conviction that she will be ok and that everything will work out. I wouldn't have known that if I have not know that if I didn't ask our Father in Heaven to help me know what to say and do for her. It has been such a growing experience having prayers answered and knowing that everything will work out because the spirit testified to you that it would. It's amazing!!

This week I was ponderizing Ether 12:27. I love this scripture so much!!! It has brought me so much comfort that every little trial and struggle I go through will help me in the end to be a better person. It has been a tough journey thus far in my life, there have been really good times and some not so good times and all of it has helped me be the person I am today. I set a picture of my scripture as my background on my ipad as Elder Durrant invited us to do and it helped me so much!! Every time I would see it I would think to myself "everything will work out, I can do this!!" It was so amazing to ponder that one specific Scripture, it has helped me get through this week with a good attitude that this transfer is going to be great!!!  If you have started ponderizing your scripture I would invite you to do so, I know it will bless your life in so many different ways!!! I promise it will help you :)

We had Stake Conference this weekend and we were trained a lot about keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. There shouldn't be a big ole long list of "do's" and "don'ts" we just need to think about what sign we want to give Heavenly Father. We need to be in HIS service!!! It was great :) I hope you all will apply that to your lives and keep the Sabbath Day Holy, make it a delight!!! I know that we will be blessed immensely if we do so, we will have a much better relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Well I love you all so much. Hope you all have a great and an amazing week!!!!!

Love, Sister Kierra Wadsworth

ps. If you have any questions just ask :) If you want to know more let me know!!

Hey family and friends!!!

Today marks a new transfer, Sister Zaugg leaves for Pittsburgh tomorrow and arrives in Utah on Wednesday. I get a new companion, kinda nervous!! I hit my hump mark in 9 days.... Lots of changes are headed my way!!

So on Monday, we went on a hike, it was so fun!!! We were taking a picture and Sister Zaugg was on my back and I wanted to do a squat with her on my back so I did one then I tried to do another one and I fell backwards and landed right on my back! Talk about embarrassing!!! I can tell that I haven't worked on my legs for awhile!!! HAHAHAHAHA It was funny :):) That night we had a great lesson with one of our less-actives Sister Batista. She has such a strong testimony of the gospel and is so solid :) She is progressing really well!!!

Tuesday, we had a lesson with Austin and he wanted to teach us so he did. It is the best thing to see them be able to teach a lesson and see how far they have gone!!! It was great :) Austin is so amazing!!! We had a lesson with an investigator Sister Finkey, she is doing good. It was the first time we were able to meet with her in  a couple of weeks. She has been reading the Book of Mormon on her own!! That is really good for her :) We went to Ephrata Manor and it was Sister Zauggs last time.. It was sad :( But I love Ephrata Manor, and just service in general!!! We were able to contact some less-actives that the ward has never met and also a couple that haven't been able to be contacted for awhile by anyone and we were able to get in and invite them back to church and to general conference, it was great :):)

Wednesday , we had district meeting and we talked about how to use our ipads correctly and not be distracted by them. Sometimes that is hard but the more and more you are obedient to the rules the easier it becomes. Afterwards we watched the funeral of Elder Scott, I sure am going to miss him!!! He was a great servant of the Lord. We were able to have a lesson with Ethan and Amanda 2, they were both good. Amanda is doing well, the members we have brought have really connected with her. The 2 sisters we have brought with us feel that they are suppose to be a part of her life, it's amazing!!

Thursday, we had another lesson with Austin. We sit on his porch and it has been getting kinda chilly here so we had blankets around us for the lesson :) It was great!! We had dinner with one of our less-actives and they fed us a real PA dutch meal!! It was soooo good!!!! :):) They even gave us leftovers!! :) After dinner we had a lesson with Amanda. She was able to receive priesthood blessing. That helped my testimony grow so much, when someone comes in and gives a blessing to someone they don't know and everything was spot on, how can you say that is not the power of God? It was truly amazing to witness that. I know that the priesthood power is real!!!

Friday, we weekly planned. We went to the Burds and Sister Zuagg said goodbye :( We had dinner with Amanda 1  and her boyfriend who came from Maryland for general conference :) She got us pizza!! :) We also were able to have a good lesson with her about tithing. I love her so much!!!

Saturday, we watched conference at the Gillmans for the first session. It was so good!!! Then we went to Ben and Megans kids birthday party. It was lots of fun :) Then we went and watched the second session of general conference with the Nielsens. Afterwards Sister Nielsen, Sister Zaugg and I just sat and talked for a little bit. It was so great!! I love Sister Nielsen so much :)

Sunday we had lunch with the bishop and his family then watched conference with them. In between sessions we played a game with them :) It was lots of fun!! then we watched the second session with them again. They also fed us dinner :) Their whole family got together and had lots of soup!!! It was really good :) I love the Bowe family they are so great!!! This general conference was so good. I got a lot of personal revelation out of it. One of the things that kept sticking out to me was that we need to be more righteous and exactly obedient. It really hit me that I need to be EXACTLY obedient to ALL the rules. I don't have any issues with being obedient but sometimes I slip with just the little things and that can't happen. I want to work on my faith and I went into conference with that in my mind and I know that was my answer. I need to be exactly obedient!!!  It was so good :):) I loved it and am so grateful for it :) General conference is like Christmas for missionaries :) It's the best!! :)

Well I am doing good!!! Like I always say "I love being a missionary!!!!!!" Hope you all have a great week and know that I love you to the moon and back!!!! You are all the best :) I invite those who weren't able to watch general conference to go and watch it because it was truly amazing!!!!

I know this church is true, the book is blue!!! LOVE YA!

Love Sister Wadsworth

P.S. So the new apostle Elder Stevenson is my mission President's childhood friend!!!  Elder Stanfill who spoke in Saturday afternoon session was just in our mission a couple of weeks ago!! It was awesome to see him speak again :):)
