August 31, 2015

Hey family and friends!!!

This week has been one of the best :):) We had great things happen and more great things are about to happen!

So on Monday we went to lunch as a district for the last time together because Elder Averett got transferred. We went to the church and just hung out and wrote in Elder Averetts mission book. We are truly going to miss him! But after that we home and tried some people, not a ton of success but we tried :):)

Tuesday, we had a great discussion with Austin, he truly is progressing so much and I can tell that he is wanting to change his life for the better!!! We read the scriptures with Sister Finkey and her granddaughter and I sword fought, it was super cute :):) I love when little kids say "missionary, missionary!" I just remember when I was little that I would do the same thing and now to think that I am the missionary! WEIRD :):) Haha I love it! We went and did service at Ephrata Manor, as I always say, I love that place!! That night some members took us out to Applebees!! That is one of my favorites!! :)

Wednesday, we had a super busy day! We had district meeting. Our district now has 11 missionaries, there was a set of Elders doubled into the Spanish branch and the Spanish Sisters are now in a trio. We have 2 new greenies!! It's such a blast:):) After our meeting we played signs!! It was fun with 11 people playing!! Then we had 3 lessons that were all over our area.. We used A LOT of miles!! But it was good :) We had our last lesson with Ethan as an investigator!!! He is so awesome!! He could not stop saying how excited he was!! He is truly so special and I could just the love that Heavenly Father has for him, Ethan is going to be a great member!!

Thursday, we had another great discussion with Austin. He is really starting to open up and asking questions so he can learn more. He told us that he wants to be truly converted! He is great!! We had a lesson with Darla, she is so sweet!! She is going to be super busy for a couple of months and told us that she might not be able to meet with us very often but made us promise to come back! She also asked us if she could send us birthday cards.. She is so cute! I love her so much!!! Her heart is softening more and more every time we see her. I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! One of our less-actives daughter had her baby and we went and saw them, he is so cute!! It is so hard not to hold them.. But rules are rules :)

Friday, we spent most of the day weekly planning. Ben and Megan got married and so we went to that. It was great!! They have the temple in their sights already!! They are so awesome :) I love them!! That night our ward had a BBQ and that was fun :) We did a scavenger hunt then played some catch! It was fun :)

Saturday, it was the big day!! Ethan got baptized!!!!! We had to go early to fill the font and clean it up a little :):) It was seriously so good!!!!! He was so excited!! Sister Zaugg and I gave the talks. While he was getting dressed we had people write him notes so we could make him a baptism book. We had him write a note how he was feeling and he said "I feel good today, I am glad that i got baptized" and he drew himself!! It was soooo cute :) He was just glowing! It was seriously so great to be a part of someone coming closer to Christ and making promises with God. I love it so much :):)

Sunday, Ethan got confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!!! It was so sweet!! Afterwards he came up to me and he said "I have the Holy Ghost with me right now!" It was so sweet!! Courtney (his guardian/aunt) told us that before church Ethan said that he felt different and he asked him what he meant and he said "I just feel so good!!" He seriously is so AMAZING!!! After church we went and contacted a referral that we had received during the week and we actually called her and set up an appointment. Her name is Amanda, she has a friend who is a member and they have been talking about the LDS religion and she has been reading the Book of Mormon and also reading the pamphlets we have. She downloaded the gospel library app. She had some issues with the word of wisdom and she read about it and she is quitting all her issues! She told us she wants to be baptized and she has such a great desire to learn more!!! That was truly a miracle for us because the work was kinda going slow and now it is getting so much better and life is just so great!!!

I truly do love being a missionary with all my heart! There is no other place I'd rather be than where I am right now!! I am gaining an amazing testimony of the gospel and I KNOW that it is true and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and it truly contains, with the bible as well, the fullness of gospel. If you want to truly know God and Christ read the BOM for yourself and ask God sincerely if it is true and if they are really there and love us. I KNOW THAT IT IS TRUE!! I have prayed sooo much and the spirit has told me and confirmed me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that we will be with our familes for eternity and that brings me so much joy knowing that I can be with my loved ones forever! I invite you all to live your lives as if the Savior Jesus Christ came tomorrow. So that means that you strive to do your best and if you make a mistake REPENT!  I promise you that Heavenly Father will guide the scriptures tell us in 1 Nephi 3:7 that God has prepared a way for us!!! I love you all soo much-- to the moon and back :):)

Hope y'all have a great week!!! LOVE YOU

August 24, 2015

Hey family and friends!!!

This week has been another fun and busy week!!!

Monday we went to the church after emailing and we exploded a watermelon :) It was a lot of fun!!! We had a mini watermelon fight and were throwing bits of watermelon at each other! Then we played some volleyball!! That night we had a lesson with Darla and she REALLY opened up to us. She is doing so good :):) She said she probably won't be able to meet with us during the months of September through December and she made us promise that we will come back in January because she likes learning from us!! We had a great discussion with her.

Tuesday, we went and did service at Ephrata Manor, it was great :) It is a nursing home(don't know if I have mentioned that before) but it is kinda turning my gears a little bit.. I am thinking of working as a CNA when I get home because I love doing it :):) And working with the residents just reminds of how much I love doing that kind of work!! After service we went out and walked around for a bit and tried some of our potentials, they either weren't home or they had moved.

Wednesday, we had district meeting. It was great as always :) Afterwards, we played ultimate spoons... haha it was soo fun :):) Afterwards we tried some more potentials!! We have a lot potentials that we are going through and trying :) We usually are walking and so it takes a lot of time. I love walking so much, it is a great way to share the gospel because when you are in a car no one really knows who you are and we can't talk to them so walking is much more effective in that sense :)

Thursday, I am pretty sure that I got good poisoning from a breakfast that we ate at a members and so we kinda just took it slow but I am lots better now :) It was just a one day thing!!! We went and saw Ethan, he is sooo excited for his baptism this Saturday!!! He is so prepared :) We had dinner at the Nielsens. Sister Nielsens parents live in Willow Bend right around the corner from nana!! Small world :) They are super fun and remind me so much of our family :) They LOVE to tease!! Haha

Friday, we did weekly planning and for lunch we went to Green Dragon!! I love that place :):) We had a lesson with one of our less-actives and she literally talked for TWO AND A HALF HOURS!!!! Pennsylvanians really know how to talk!! HAHA :) But she needed it and she might have some service opportunities to do service for her this week!!

Saturday, we had correlation with Brother Eberly, he is so great!!! After that we went out walking again. We tried A LOT of potentials and walked around most of the day!!!! No one we talked to was interested but HEY we are still going to work hard :):) That night we did some more service for a couple in our ward who just bought a house that needs some fixing up. We painted :)

Sunday, we had a great day!!! We had a lesson with Ethan and then he had is baptism interview and passed!! He is for sure getting baptized this Saturday at 2:00!!!!!! :):) SO EXCITED!!!!! He truly has progressed so much since I met him and the bishop said that he has changed a bunch as well. He use to not interact with anyone during church and now he makes the effort to go and talk with people and he is learning so much and it shows:) I love seeing the change in people, it truly is an amazing blessing to be able to be here at this time and help people grow closer to Christ. There is truly no greater calling than being a missionary!!! For ward council we had a training on the keeping the Sabbath day holy and it was great!!! :) We came home and then did our studies :):) My studies have been going really great!! We are truly so blessed to have the resources we do, I am so grateful that I have an iPad and am able to use the gospel library app, it truly is amazing :):) It just amazes me of how much trust our Father in Heaven has for me right now to be in this time where we use iPads as missionaries and just all the things that we are doing!! Its awesome!!!!

Last night we had a sleepover with the Sisters from our district :) It was a lot of fun!!! We are probably going to do that more often.

In my studies this morning I was reading in the new issue of the Ensign. I was reading the message from President Eyring titled "Families and Prayer." What really stood out to me was this: "You may not raise a great servant of God, but you can by your prayers and your example of faithfulness help the Lord Jesus Christ raise up good and beloved disciples." I loved it! We can help those who aren't making the right choices in our families by praying for them!! I invite you to pray for those who are struggling BY NAME and what they need SPECIFICALLY!!! I have grown such a great testimony of prayer and by praying for people by name. As a missionary I pray everyday for those who we work with and I have seen many blessings come because of it!! The power of prayer is real!!! Pray as a family EVERYDAY(no matter what!) and individually, I promise that as you do that you will see the blessings that come from it. Hearts will soften and people will come closer to Christ from it :):)

I love you to the moon, sun, heaven and back :) -- That's A LOT of love!!! hahahaha

LOVE YOU!!

Hey family and friends!!

This week has been super busy!! We had a lot to do :) It was great

Monday, we just hung out at the church and then came home. We went to see Safi, our investigator and we had this really strong prompting to not see her and we don't know why but we followed it!! We went and saw an in-active that we had visited before and didn't seem to interested but a member of the ward told us to go see her so we did. It ended up being really good!! We talked with her and got to know her a little bit and we also talked to her friends. She has 2 daughters that we played with and it was great!! We just made ourselves at home so it wasn't awkward like last time. It was great!!!

Tuesday, we did service at Ephrata Manor. We had a lesson with Ethan it was great!!! We talked about missionary work and service, he really seemed to grasp it :) We also had a lesson with Sister Finkey, we might be dropping her because she isn't keeping her commitments and never really has but we hope that she has been reading the BOM. We had exchanges on very short notice! Like they told us at 4:30 that we were exchanging that night and we would exchange back on Thursday. Sister Jarvis came to Ephrata with me and Sister Zaugg went to Elizabethtown.

Wednesday, Sister Jarvis and I walked around all day. It was really good :) We were suppose to see Sister Hackman but she wasn't home. We both had to go to the bathroom and so we were trying to find a bathroom so we went to a gas station and they didn't have one so we had to walk down further to the grocery store. We ended up getting some ice cream. It was sooo good and it was super cheap!! Turkey Hill ice cream, it's super good!!! Then we went to Sister Hackman's moms house and did some cleaning and helped out a puzzle together for a bit. Sister Hackmans mom bought us some food so that was nice :) Her mom is getting pretty old and can't do a lot so we have been helping her out :) Sister Jarvis and I walked about 5-6 miles.. It was fun :) That night we went and saw an in-active that we have never met and she was super nice!!! She said that we could come back!!! :)

Thursday, I woke up and my legs were pretty sore! Haha :) We had Zone Training, it was great!!! We talked about the importance of the BOM in conversion. I am so excited to implement that into my missionary work!!! We had a zone activity to build unity. We played some indoor soccer for a little while and then me, Sister Zaugg, and some Elders went outside and played some football. It was so great to be able to play again :) I miss football! After we played sports(around 3 hours) we all gathered in a circle and went around and talked about highlights from our missions. It was great!!! :) We had dinner with our investigator Ben and his wife then talked about the importance of the BOM. Ben has such a great desire to know the truth, it's so great!!!

Friday, we went and helped a family in our ward move. It was us and 1 other family who went. We helped them for a couple of hours, it was great :) I LOVE service!!!!! Afterwards we did some weekly planning and that took the rest of the day. I realized why I am doing so good on this day. I have been trying so hard to be exactly obedient and trying to do everything that I commit my investigators and less-actives to do, basically to live the gospel FULLY!! It is truly blessing me in so many ways!! The gospel is soooo true!!!! I can NEVER deny it. Also, my attitude has changed about a lot things and trying to have a good attitude about everything and it has been soo good :):)

Saturday, the Elders who serve in the same ward as us had a baptism. So we went to that and it was great :) Then we went over to the Tuckers to help them again but they were pretty much done. There was another couple in our ward who needed help cleaning their new house they just got. So we went and helped them and we were there for awhile. I got to spackle and paint :) It was lots of fun!!! We were pretty tired though :)

Sunday, we had a dinner appointment with the Andersens and they fed us curry meatballs... I really don't like curry but I powered through and I am still alive :) hahaha We did our studies then went and visit taught with a lady in our ward.

I am still growing so much and becoming the person who Heavenly Father wants me to be. I love being a missionary even though it is tough some times but the good experiences out way the tough ones :) It truly is a great blessing!!! I am so glad that everything worked out with the car accident and selling the boat :) I am excited that you are getting the business going. Dad are you meaning that it will bless because I can do that job because I would love to do that!!! Sister Zaugg and I are doing soo great!!! Our unity is seriously sooo amazing. She told me that our untiy is the best she has ever have and I am her 8 comp!  Hope you all have a great week!!! I love you to the moon and back!!

August 10, 2015

Hey family and friends!!!

This week has been truly amazing!! We have been pretty busy and just great things are happening. I have been growing sooo much :):)

Monday after emailing we went to a trampoline place and it was a blast!! We jumped around and played lots of dodge ball :) We were all pretty sore!! Haha.

Tuesday, we had a great lesson with Austin!!! He really opened up to us with the struggles he has been dealing with. The lesson really showed me how much our Savior has done for us and how Heavenly Father wants to help us. I testified with true conviction of that and I am just so grateful that I have truly come to know that. We went and did service at Ephrata Manor and after we were done playing bocce ball I played the piano and Sister Zaugg and I both sang :) We got the ipad out and used the lds music app to play hymns :):) It was fun!! I never thought I would actually say this but I wished I had practiced the piano A TON more!!! But I can still have time to grow :) '

Wednesday, we had district meeting and we talked about being a complete missionary. It was a great lesson for me to learn how I can become better and what things I need to work on so I can reach my full potential as a missionary and as a future mother and wife to be honest :) I just think that if missionaries aren't following the rules or just doing a mission because they are forced then why even go out or stay? That is just wasting the time of the Savior. The mission is all about submitting our will to the Lords will and if we aren't TRULY willing to do that then we are wasting time!! I truly think that if we do our best and work so hard, the hardest you will ever work, then it is time well spent and the Savior will guide us!! I have truly seen that this transfer. I am working so hard on being EXACTLY obedient and aligning my will to God's will and making sure that what I am doing is worth while, which it totally is, and I have seen the blessing come of it. I have received a lot of guidance, personal revelation, spiritual promptings, seeing other hearts softening and especially my love and the relationship with the Savior and our Father in Heaven grow exponentially!!! It truly has been sooo amazing :):) Off my soap box now :) So after district meeting went to B-dubs for lunch for one of the sisters hump day. It was good :)

Thursday, we were suppose to have a lesson with Darla but I got this feeling that it wasn't going to happen but we tried anyways and we got there and her step dad came to the door and told us it wasn't a good time and so we said OK and walked back to the car :) It was sad that we weren't able to have a lesson with her but we were spiritually and physically prepared for it. It was a cool experience :) We were cut 75 miles today, that may not seem like a lot to you but as a missionary that is a lot! But we have been able to walk and I actually really like it :):) It is nice!! I hope that one day I might be able to serve in a walk area!!

Friday, we did our weekly planning and took our lunch break and went to green dragon and we were at this stand looking at stuff and the guy that had the stand came up to us. He told us that he has talked to mormons before and he said that he liked them so that was good :) Always a missionary no matter what!! We had a great lesson with Sister Batista, her heart is defiantly softening!!!

Saturday, we had correlation and Sister Eberly has been having some complications with some things and she has some tests done and found out that she has cancer :( She doesn't know how far it is or what she has to go through. She does have to get surgery to remove some things but they don't know how far it has gone. Hopefully everything will be ok. We did service with the Hackmans. We went to Sister Hackmans moms house and helped cleaned :)

Sunday, ONE OF THE BUSIEST SUNDAYS I HAVE HAD!!!! We were seriously going like non-stop!! We had church then a lesson with Ethan right after. We had PEC. We had about a 20 minute lunch break. We went to the Rodriguez's and helped them put a fan together and had an awesome lesson with them!!! They are truly so close to the spirit and have angels surrounding them!!! Their mom is really sick and Sister Zaugg and I could feel their families presence so strongly!!! It was great!! Then we drove to our dinner appointment that was 30 minutes away. After dinner we had a lesson with Ben(our new investigator) and Megan. It was great!!! They are making soooo much progression!!! They had an interview with Bishop because they asked him to marry them. And bishop said that they are already talking about their sealing and setting a goal to be sealed as a family :):) I truly love their family so much already!!! :) I love these kind of experiences!!! They are the best!! Ben and Megan are so prepared :) After their lesson we came home and we were about to study for about 20 minutes then we had to get ready for bed!!! It was so great!!!!!! I love being busy like that :):) It was just great!!!!!

Sister Zaugg and I are doing so great with each other!!! Our unity is so amazing!!! :) We are studying preach my gospel from front to back as a companionship and we have been great insight and some awesome revelation :) I have been studying more about our Savior Jesus Christ and I am growing soo close to Him and I love it!! :) I know that we do have a Savior, and that He loves us so much!! He gave His life for us so we can become like Him and our Father in Heaven and live with Them again some day. The Savior knows exactly how we feel and what we are going through. He is there during the good and bad. I am so grateful for Him and I know He is there!!! I love you all to the moon and back!!! That means a lot haha :) Well have a great week and know that Sister Wadsworth is happy, healthy and doing great!!! :):)

August 3, 2015

Hey family and friends!!!

This week has been seriously sooo good!!!!! Sister Zaugg and I are doing super good and working very well with each other :) My health is so much better and I am so grateful for that :)

So Monday, we just stayed in our area and did some grocery shopping and just relaxed :) We had dinner with the Singers again, they fed us twice this month, they are great!! We stayed in the apartment and went through potential investigators and former's.

Tuesday, we were going to have a lesson with Sister Finkey and we got there and she said that it wasn't a good time to come back later. Sister Hackman came with us and we asked her if she needed help with anything and she did, so we went to her house and helped her replace a fuse that had blown. She has a cellar like basement and we went down there because that is where the fuse box is and there were spider webs ALLL over the ceiling! It was gross!! But I replaced the fuse because Sister Hackman was scared she was going to get shocked. It was a weird fuse... It was for the air conditioning. Don't know what it is called. After that we went and did service at Ephrata Manor. That night we had a lesson with the Parker girls before mutual.

Wednesday, we had a lesson with the Geros, they are less-active. We tried some potentials in that town because we don't get out there very often because it is a lot of miles. That night we had dinner with the Stephensons. I have loved the emails from mom about fmaily history stories. When I got the first one it made me cry a little because I saw that it was from Papa :) But I loved the stories!!! I truly love family history soooooo much!!!!!

Thursday, we had a great lesson with Darla!!! Her just keeps softening and I love it :) We had a really big rain storm so we just stayed in the apartment and entered in information to our ipads.

Friday, we had interviews with President!!! They were great :) He is truly an inspired man!! He basically told me that I am staying here for awhile because I am killing Sister Zaugg off :) He said "finish her off good!!" He also told me that I have served in two of the best wards in the mission!! I am so lucky :) So we were suppose to have a lesson with Ben and Megan and I kept getting this prompting that we should just text them and confirm our appointment so we did and they had to reschedule. If we wouldn't have done that we would have used a TON of miles! So I am so grateful for that prompting :) I feel that I am learning how to listen to the Spirit so much better!!! We had dinner with the Pilsners!! They are such a fun family :):):)

Saturday, there was a baptism in the ward and so we went to that. Afterwards we had a meeting with Brother Eberly. Then we came home and weekly planned for the rest of the day.

Sunday, we went to church and then did our studies. That night we went and had a lesson with Ben and Megan. It was sooo good!!! Ben has such a great desire to learn about the chruch. Megan is his fiance and is working on coming back to the church. But the lesson was great, the unity between Sister Zaugg and I is soo good!! The spirit was so strong :) They live in an old Amish home and they have a farm around them :) It was fun to see that!! They have two calves and I let them suck on my fingers!! :) HAHA but it was truly so good!!!

I am doing so good!!! My studies have been amazing. I have started reading Jesus the Christ and taking one page a day to be able to understand the content and I have already learned a ton!! Sister Zaugg and I decided to read Preach My Gospel as a companionship all the way through and we have gotten so much out of it already!!! We have so much fun together and get a long soo well:) We are seriously so good together!!! :)

I want you all to know that I KNOW that this church true!! I have spent a lot of time studying and asking our Father in Heaven questions that I had and I have felt the spirit so strongly testify to me that everything is true!! I have been growing such a great relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ, He is there for us through everything, the good and the bad. Study about His atonement I promise you that if you do so that you will be able to receive that conformation as well!!! I am so grateful that I chose to serve a mission, it isn't easy but it is the best thing that anyone can do! I have learned so many new things about my self and the gospel!! IT"S JUST THE BEST!!! :):)

Well I love you all so much!! Have a great week and know that I love you to the moon and back!! :):)
