Hey family!!!

This week was kinda crazy but good. Monday after emailing we went and taught a investigator and the lesson was super good!!! His name is Demetri, and he loves Jesus Christ so much. After that we went to the store and got some things. then we went to see some people but they weren't home. on Tuesday we had zone training and president and sister Johnson were there. but the zone leaders and stls trained us on teaching the saviors way. i played the piano :) but that was really good!! we went to lunch at red robins and president and sister Johnson came with us!! we had 14 missionaries there!!! :) that night we went to the addiction recovery program at the church then went home. Wednesday we did some service at arc then we went and saw a progressive investigator named Megan and we just talked with her for awhile, she didn't really seem interested. then we had dinner and went a saw a less active family. that night we had correlation with the ward mission leader. every Wednesday night we have correlation. Thursday we did family history it was really cool because some of our family on dads side are from Pennsylvania!!! some of them were born in my area :):) super cool!!!! i wasn't feeling good at all so we went home and i slept for awhile.. i have been feeling miserable this week :( not fun! i really wanted to go out and work but i need to help myself to get better so i can do more work :) Friday we did weekly planning... that morning it was super cold in our apt (49 degrees....) so we called the mission office and asked them what to do, they said that they will look really hard to find us an apt soon!!! we asked them if we could move in with a member until then and they said yes!!!! we moved what day!!! we are living with the Behlings. they are an older couple that is retired, they have been here for a here they moved from Utah.. they have a HUGE house and its really nice :) they feed us all meals!! it is awesome.. so for now just send anything to me to the mission home.. we are working really hard to find and apt still.. Saturday we went out with the behlings to find an apt then we went to wheeling for a baptism. sister Palmer served in wheeling for a couple of weeks before i got here because her comp went home early for school and she taught this family of 3 and they all got baptized!!! it was awesome :) Sunday we went to church and then we went and saw some less actives!!!

this week was good i had a couple of sick days but i am feeling better now!!! i am doing great :) loving the work. my testimony had grown sooo much!!!! i love reading my scriptures everyday and learning more about the gospel and seeing how it has helped others so much!!! Love you all and miss you so much!!! sorry its kinda short--not a lot of time..

Hey Family,

This week has been great!!! On Monday, after P-day ended we had some appointments. Our first appointment was a referral, his name is Demetri. We went and saw him and he is super interested in learning more about our Church. We gave him a BOM and he said he would read it!!! We have another appointment with him today. So we have a new investigator!!!! Then we went and saw a less active family and talked with them (The Cagnons) and every time we go over there they always give us food which is awesome!!

On Tuesday, we did some service at arc and we went and saw a less active lady. we got there and she just came home from the hospital. her kidneys are failing and she isnt doing very well which is super sad!! so we went out tracting. that was such an awesome experience because we went to this neighborhood and we said a prayer to help guide us in the right direction. after we said taht prayer we were looking at the map and we were seeing what road stuck out to us and both of us had a good feeling about the same road. we have a potential investigator so that is good!! then we went and saw one our investigators maryann. she had a rough day so we went a saw her and talked with her. that night we were looking for a less active family and we went to their house and they had moved but the couple that moved in, she was super interested in coming to our church and we taught her about the BOM and she said she would read it and we set up a RA with her so we got another new investigator!!!!! It was great :)

On wednesday, we had district meeting in wheeling,WV and we talked about recognizing the spirit. It was perfect for me because i have had a hard time doing that so his lesson was good for me!!! after our meeting we went to this pizza place and i had a calzone!! it was really good!!! then we drove home and did some training and mormon.org time. then we had a dinner appointment with some members from our ward. it was good we had meatball subs!!! then we went and saw an investigator marie. then we had correlation with the ward mission leader!!

On Thursday, we went to see a la lady and she wasnt there so we called people in our phone that we didnt know. i made sooo many phone calls but im use to calling people now!! then we went to a chocolate factory because we had someone cancel on us. the chocolate factory is called sarris's. we had super good ice cream and i bought some chocolates!!! there were super good :)   then we saw bill. he is an investigator. then we went and saw a la lady and we talked about prophets with her!! its amazing how much you truly grow on your mission because that lesson came all by the spirit and it was AWESOME!!

On Friday, we went and saw an investigator at 9:00AM and she wasnt there so we went back home and did weekly planning. no crazy things happened this time!!! haha :) then after we were done we went and saw maryann and talked to her about addiction recovery because she is a smoker.

On Saturday, WE HAD A BAPTISM!!!!!!!! Bill got baptized!! I gave a talk on baptism and my comp spoke on the Holy Ghost. After that Bill got up and bore his testimony and the spirit was SOOOO strong!! He had some friends there that werent members and some of them are interested about learning more and we had someone come up to us afterwards and was asking questions which was awesome!!! then we went to maries and had cake for her sons birthday. and while bills baptism was going on we got a HUGE snow storm!! before the baptism there was no snow and afterwards there was at least 2 inches on the ground and was still coming down!!! it was one of the worst snow storms i have ever been in.. but that night we had a service project at the Washington Health Care Center. Its like a nursing home. But we danced with the residents and alot of them were in wheelchairs so we would just push them around. there were a couple of men that would request me to dance with them... it was a little weird!! one of them told me he loved me and kissed my hand.. HAHA super weird! we served their dinner to them, but it was a lot of fun to be able to help them!!

Sunday, there wasnt a lot of people that came becuase of the snow!! but bill was confirmed!!! that morning we caught a mouse... ewwww!! and the past couple of days it has been really cold and our heater doesnt work like at all so it has been super cold!! so we are hoping to find a new place soon :) but this week was good :) Heavenly Father  gives us the hard things so we can receive the good ones!! This saturday was my one month mark that i have been out!! its crazy, time has flown by!!

Well i love you all so much and i love being on a mission :)

Love you,

2/9/2015 - Washington, PA

This week has been tough. We would go out and try to teach and find people but they werent home or they didnt want us... It was hard to get that and we tried so hard and we didnt have a ton of success. We did pick up 2 more investigators so that is good. We went looking for a new apt. and we found one but we still have to apply and its hard to find time and we dont have the miles to drive around.

On Wednesday we went Wintersville Ohio so we were in 3 different states!!! It was a lot of fun. We have a less active couple we went and saw. They are so awesome they live the gospel, they read their scriptures every day and their testimonies are sooo strong!! They just dont come to church.. We had a less active lady that went to the ER and she almost died! It was so sad, but we went and saw her and the Elders gave her a blessing. She is now home and doing better!! We are teaching one of her daughters and they got into a big fight and we are trying not to get right in the middle of it but the mom told the Elders to tell us that she doesnt want her daughter coming back and she wants us to tell her daughter that and we really dont want too...

We had red robins with a member. He took us and the Elders out!! It was sooo good :) I kept thinking of mom and dad because they love that place so much!! We have a baptism this Saturday which is really exciting but I cant really call him MY convert because if wasnt there for all of the lessons.. But it is still awesome to see him progress so much!! He has changed so much in the time I have been here. The atonement is so real and it is so awesome to be able to see that!!!

We had a relief society craft thing on Thursday and we were able to do that. We made hearts out of fabric and put them on a square board. They are cute, we haven't finished ours but once we do i will send a pic!! Friday we did weekly planning.. I have a fun story to tell you! So i wasnt feeling very good (i had really bad cramps..) so i took some Midol, about an hour later i started to get a bad headache and by then i forgot that i had taken the midol so i took some tension headache, and i was really conjested so i took some dayquil not thinking of the things that i took so i was super loopy and we could not focus on weekly planning and for a couple of hours i could not figure out why i was so dizzy and tire and loopy then i remembered what i took and we were kinda worried so we called a lady in the ward and she said that i should just sleep it off!! so i took about a 2 hour nap.. Sister Palmer called sis.johnson, presidents wife, and she laughed and said "ya she is probably really tired!" so it was a funny day!! haha

Yesterday we had a lesson with one of our investigators and he had been drinking.. he hasnt been progressing at all and our lessons was so bad! that has been the hardest lesson so far! we are going to drop him as a investigator. it is so hard to do that because we want him to progress but he just doesnt want our church...

I have been learning a lot about the restoration because this week in training i am suppose to take the lead on the restoration lessons. so i have been studying that a lot!! I am learning SOOOO much and i love it :)

Love you All!!

Feb 2, 2015
So this week I flew to Pittsburgh,PA. I got to talk to my family in the Salt Lake airport and it was great to here their voices!!! It was really hard saying good bye.. We had an hour delay in Salt Lake because they were having issues with the engines... super scary!!! But we flew in to Detroit and had to basically run to get to our next flight but we go there in time and got on and this plane was TINY!!! It was actually a jet.. But we flew into Pittsburgh and my Mission President and his wife were waiting for us. President shook our hand and sis johnson gave the sisters a hug. There were 3 sisters me and my companion from the MTC and there was a sister that came form the mexico city mtc because she is in a Spanish speaking mission, and there were 16 new elders!!! There was ALOT of us :) But we loaded all our stuff up in a trailer and went to the mission home!!! It was such a nice house and they fed us dinner, Lasagna salad and bread!!! It was soooo good compared to the MTC!!! But we had a get to know you thing then they let us go to bed early because the next day was going to be BUSY!!

The next day we had breakfast that was soooo good!!! It was this egg casserole and i'm not a big fan of eggs but it was so good and i put some mago salsa on it... It was just REALLY good!!! Then we drove to the stake center where I would find out where my first area would be!!! But before that we had some training and we got our mission cards and all that fun stuff!! then we had lunch... ohh and i got a package from sis streeper it was great!!! and a letter from home :) Well after lunch we all went into the chapel and thats where we were told where we are going.. There were 2 sisters that were going to train me and sister roberts. So we made some guesses of who we were gunna go with and we were totally wrong!! Sister Roberts is serving in Hershey, Pa... I am serving in..... Maybe you dont want to know that.. HAHA jk! I am serving in Washington, Pa and my companion/tranier is Sister Palmer. She is from touilla ut!! After that we got my stuff and packed in our car.. WE ARE DRIVING A MINI VAN!!!! CRAZY! But we went back to our apt ( I will tell you a little more about that later...) But then we went to Walmart and I had to get some things.. Then we went and taught a Less Active member. It was lots of fun :) Then we went back and planned and i unpacked more of my stuff then went to bed. During the week i have met some VERY interesting people.... But i am loving the work so much!!! Me and my comp are getting a long sooooo well!!! i love it.

so my apt is super old!!! it is above this garage is like a 100 yrs old.. It use to be a carriage house where they would put the slaves in.. But its really small and old and the floor creaks like no other but it is just fine!! We do have a washer and dryer so that is awesome!! I will send Pics!!

Im am loving being a missionary and i love the Gospel soooo much!! It has been hard because we were teaching this investigator and he is SUPER weird!!! and he talked so much and i just couldnt thing of anything to say.. it was just really overwhelming....  but i hope to grow more so i can know what to say!!

Love you all!!
Sister Wads

(I asked her to write more about her week and this was what she said) ;

ok so on wed we had district meeting where our district leader taught more about our purpose and we role played on how to give out BOM's. Then we went and taught a less active couple the Snebergers. they are awesome people. they read their scriptures everyday and their testimonies are so strong but they dont go to church but they are really close to coming back :) we then went and taught another la (less active) sis. southern, she has a lot of health issues and is bed ridden but her and her husband read and pray everyday she is just to sick to go to church. then we went to another ls house and they weren't home. so we had backups!! we went and saw a investigator (I) his name is rex.. is a different character. he is a smoker and drinker and he is a big talker!!! it was really hard to teach him because he just talks all the time!! and he smelt really bad.. that was a really hard lesson :( then we taught the achievement day girls about being a missionary. then on thurs we taught a guy named bill.. he is actually getting baptized on Feb 14!!!! then we went to the library and had to update some things on the computer. on we actullay taught rex on thurs not wed sorry.. then we had dinner (we just made sandwiches) then we went and saw another la the cagnons. they just had some family members pass away. their niece her house caught on fire and she was trying to get her 3 kids out the window but she fell out and couldnt get back up and her kids burned in the fire.. :( it is so sad. so we talked to them and they seemed to being doing ok i shared with them that grandpa died right before i came out but us being int the church we know that we can see them again!! they gave us some food before we left :)  then we went and saw a family that are members and they are great!!! friday we helped a family move that took most of the day. then we did some weekly planning. that night the bishop took us and the elders to dinner.. noodles and company SUPER good!!! then sat we did another service project. we painted for 6 hours!! it was fun though :) then we did more weekly planning. then we had church yesterday and i bore my testimony to introduce myself to the ward. :) then we had a lunch appointment with the family we helped move. they are Tongan!!! they had this noodle thing and pork that was really good!! they made plantains and i ate one and it was soooo nasty!!! it was so hard to eat it but i did but i only ate half and my comp ate the rest :) shes the best. then we had a dinner appointment that night and it was ok but for dessert we had frosties(from wendys) that were there for a month!! they had crystals on the bottom.. ya we all felt sick after that... but it was food right?? haha. then today we are emailing and we are going to go to the store and i do need to get some more things.. well im going to send some pics now :)
