December 14, 2015

Hey y'all!!!
11 MORE DAYS UNTIL WE GET TO TALK TO EACH OTHER!!!!!
This week has been so great :):) We had really great things happen but
not a lot of work done. We were SUPER busy though!!

On Monday I dyed my hair :) I love it so much! It makes me look
different. Imagine that! haha ;) Monday night we had dinner with one
of our less-actives. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!! I am going to tell you about
it because it was a very good meal. We had steak and baked potatoes.
That is one of my favorite meals. And they were Idaho potatoes! The
biggest potatoes I have seen thus far on my mission!! Haha Their family is super cute! They inspire us, they built their home and they
were telling us about how much money they saved by doing most to all
of it on their own. They inspired us to build our own homes!! I don't
know if it really will happen but I want to build my own home. Their
home is 5400sq. foot and they have only spent $120,000(well not only
but a lot cheaper than it would be buying it outright). It is a
BEAUTIFUL home!!! They are still working on it but it was so pretty!!
I loved it :):):) The wife is the member(less-active) and her husband
is a non-member. Her testimony is so strong. She has NO doubt
whatsoever that the church is true. Both Sister Bills and I were going
to ask why she isn't coming to church but the spirit told us clearly
that she is going to be ok and she will come back soon. Her name is
Karla, her husbands name is Dale and they have 2 cute little kids.
Will (I would say he is about 2 years old) and Mia is 11 months. :)

On Wednesday we had our Zone Conference. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!!!! :) It
was so amazing and I will never ever ever forget the spirit and the
feeling of joy and happiness I felt. It was our Christmas conference
and it was truly amazing. We talked a lot of how important it is to
give of yourself. I reflect on my life, especially my mission and see
if I was focused on myself or others more. And that is something I
need to work on. I have been praying and asking what I lack the most
(this last general conference) and this zone conference was an answer
to my prayers. I need to be more humble and focused wayyyy more on
other than on  myself. I have been studying a little bit about Jesus
Christ and what I can do everyday to become more like Him. I know that
we can't be perfect but I do know that if we are trying our best to be
more like the Savior that we will receive guidance and the strength to
continue. It was truly inspired!! There was some great musical
numbers. Sister Bills sang and it was so amazing!!! I accompanied her
and we have been practicing for 2 weeks and she was really nervous to
hit the high note at the end but she did it and it sounded AMAZING!!!
:):) After zone conference we went out zone caroling and that was a
lot of fun :):)
So do you remember Walter, the guy we met when we were moving into our apartment and he came to church? Well he is not coming to church any more and isn't interested in coming to church. He still wants us to come over but he is super creepy! He wants Sister Bills to marry him.... It is just a really creep but SUPER funny situation!!!! :)
Well I don't have a lot of time today because we are going into Pittsburgh for p-day today :) I love you all sooo much!! Have a great week :)

December 7, 2015

Hello!!!
Well this week went well!!! Monday night we went on exchanges with our STL's. I went to Franklin with Sister Busath who we came out together but she was in the Mexico MTC. Sister Bills stayed in Butler :) On exchanges we helped some members pack. They are an older couple so we did a lot of packing for them :) Then we decided to walk to our next appointment after that and we got a little lost and we had to walk up a HUGE hill!! We called the member that was coming to the lesson and she came and picked us up :) It was to get that exercise though :) We had a good lesson with one of their investigators, her name is Jodi. After her lesson we went and saw the Stewart family. They are so cute!! Two of the girls just got baptized but they are less-active :( It was really funny, at the end they said that I really needed to be transferred there!! hahaha I love that family so much!! They have such a good knowledge about the gospel they just need to go to church!!
So we moved this week on Friday and we went over to take some stuff to our new apartment and we were trying to park on main street and I was driving and I ended up backing up into someone... It wasn't a lot of damage and no one got hurt thankfully!! But I got in an accident on my mission! WOW!! It was very shocking and I cried... The people I hit were SUPER nice so that made a huge difference :) What a mission story right? haha :) The excuse is that the back of the car was full of stuff and I couldn't see but it is just an excuse and doesn't mean anything :) But our new apartment is so nice!! We are so grateful that we were able to find it and it is the best location!! Right on main street :)
Saturday morning we were moving a couple of things and this guy named Walter stopped to talk to us and he wanted to come to church. So we got him a ride and he came to church yesterday!!! It was awesome but a little weird that it happened. It usually doesn't happen like that in PA. We are sure how with it he is but it was awesome that he came to church and he enjoyed it. He wants to take the lessons too :) It was really aweomse, we didn't really know what to think because we were a little taken back or just in shock that he really came!! Hopefully we will see him this week :)
We were going to do a service project on Saturday but we weren't able to find the place. We were in our service clothes, jeans, and Sister Bills had to go to the bathroom and forgot that she had the phone in her back pocket and so our phone ended up in the toilet and we had this bright idea to stick in Rice A Roni and needless to say, our phone is broken!! And it is weird not having a phone.. It was really funny though :) Just some fun memories happening for us this week!! :):)

Last night we watched the Christmas Devotional and wow that was good!!! The music was so beautiful and the spirit that was there was just amazing. I love hearing about our Savior Jesus Christ!! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve during Christmas. I was a little homesick this week just thinking about not being home and just being selfish really and I talked to my dad about it and I loved his response, he said "You only get one of Christ's birthday as one of his full time servants." It is so true and I was just thinking about me and what I was going to do for myself but that just helped me realize that I need to stop thinking about what I am going to do for myself and think about what I am going to do for the Savior because we have everything because of Him!! It is just so easy to get caught up in the worldly Christmas and forget what it truly is about. I encourage all to focus on the Savior because He is the true meaning of Christmas!!

So this coming week we are having zone conference and I am accompanying Sister Bills for a musical number :) They also asked me to play piano for the opening and closing songs. I have been practicing them and I sure hope it goes well because it doesn't sound very good.. I sure wish I practiced piano A LOT more!! :) Then I wouldn't be having this problem.. haha It just goes to show that my parents were right :) hahaha!!
Well I hope you all have a great week :):) I love you to the moon and back!!

Love always,

Hey family and friends :)

Listening
Well this week was pretty good!! We found an apartment!! It is sooo nice, it is newly remodeled and is right on main street!! It is like the exact middle location of our area. It is just such a blessing that we found it :) We are really excited!! Second move on the mission :)
So some great things happened this week!!! We have two investigators progressing towards baptism!!! First is Bill, he is going to be baptized on December 12!!!! He is so amazing. He loves the gospel so much and has such a strong testimony of it already!! He is working really hard to get to overcome his addictions and he is doing really good!! :) I am so very grateful that I have the opportunity to work with Bill, he is truly an amazing person and is soo close to God!! I am super excited for him to baptized!! He has such a strong desire to follow Jesus Christ. Our investigator Perry is also going to be baptized!! I have only met him once but he has a strong desire to be be baptized as well!! He is super funny :) We aren't for sure when he is going to be baptized because he wanted to pick a date but we know that he is getting baptized :) We are super excited!!!
So we had a great thanksgiving!! We started off by going to the Turkey Bowl. We thought there were going to be other girls there but nope, we showed up and we were the only girls there and it was the first time the missionaries even went :) It was SUPER fun!!!! Sister Bills even made a touchdown!! It was awesome :) Then we went and filled out some paperwork at our new apartment to send into our mission office to have them sign the lease :) So it is official!! YAYYY! We then went to the church and Sister Bills called home for a little bit. She got to call home because she is leaving five days after Christmas so our mission president gave her permission to do it early :) That was a little weird.. haha :) We went to the Jones family for thanksgiving. They are a really fun dinner and they fed us really well!!! We were there for awhile. Sister Bills called her family for a little while there too because she didn't get very much time at the church. It was a great day!! :) I am so grateful that I am able to be a missionary serving the Lord at this time. It has been the best experience for me and I have grown so much!! It hasn't been easy but has been so worth it. Especially during the hard times when I wanted to give up and go home but Jesus Christ helped me to get through those hard times and I wouldn't have the knowledge of the Atonement if I would have given up. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the opportunity that I have to serve!! It is so amazing!! :)
This Sunday our gospel principles teacher texted us in the morning asking us if we would teach and so we said yes of course!! And we got into class and Sister Bills conducted and then said that I was teaching it and turned the time over to me. So I got to teach gospel principles this week!! haha It was fun! Thank goodness for the spirit right? :) I didn't know Sister Bills was going to do that and I only skimmed over the lesson.. Haha but I am a missionary so I am pretty use to teaching on the spot :) haha
On Saturday we went and saw one of our less-active couples and she taught us how to crochet!!! It was a ton of fun :) I never thought I would learn how to do that on my mission!! It was pretty sweet :) I now know how to crochet!!! The mission teaches you all sorts of life skills!! :) It's pretty awesome!! haha
So I am super excited for Christmas!!! There is a new Christmas initiative that started yesterday and I am so excited to share it with literally EVERYONE!!! It is the best tool for missionaries to talk to people anywhere, and any time :) You should all go and watch it and share it with everyone around you as well!!! You can go on mormon.org/asaviorisborn and watch it there!!!! It is AMAZING!!! SHARE IT WITH EVERYONE!!!!
Well I love you all to the moon and back!!! I hope y'all have a great week and keep on keeping on!! :) LOVE YOU!!!! <3

November 23, 2015

Hey family and friends!!
Well this week has been great here in Butler Pennsylvania!! We are in the process of finding an apartment because we are moving! Second move in the mission field!! I will be pro in moving by the time I am done :):) We have found on that is pretty nice but we are doing to look at 2 more tomorrow and we will have to make a decision by then because we have to move out of the apartment we have now by December 15 so if we don't find one we will be homeless like the Christ child was!!! Hahahahaha JK! If we don't have an apartment by then we will probably just move in with some members for a little bit :)
Sister Bills and I are doing SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!! We get along so well :) We are always having so much fun but still working super hard together!! When we saw each other at transfer meeting we ran at each other and hugged!! It was super fun :) Pretty much everyone has told us that we are going to have so much fun always but still work super hard!! And it is so true!! :) It is the best thing!! And I love Butler. It is a cute little town but ghetto!! :) It is the heroin capital of the states!! There are a ton of drug dealers and some of the apartments we have looked at have been in some super sketchy areas!! But hey it is great :) There are shoes hanging on the telephone wires (that means there is a drug dealer in the area!!), it's cool :) Hahaha!! But it is a cute town :) It reminds me a lot of Washington!!
We do a ton of service which I love :) Every Thursday we go to Katies Kitchen which is a place that feeds the homeless and needy. So we go and help them prepare the food and it's not your normal soup kitchen, they go all out!! Like they had roast beef and homemade mashed potatoes!! It is aweomse!! We were peeling potatoes and they were sooo small!! If we had Idaho potatoes we would have had to peel probably only half of what we did!! Hahaha :) Another service opportunity we did this week was on Saturday. We did therapeutic riding. It is a place where special needs people do riding lessons on horses. It is so awesome!! We helped William ride. I was on one side of the horse and Sister Bills was on the other and we would walk next to him holding his leg against the horse to help with safety!! :) It was sooo much fun!!! I loved it :)
We have an investigator who is preparing to be baptized. His name is Bill, he is preparing to be baptized on December 5. He has been reading the Book of Mormon for over 20 years!!! He has some word of wisdom issues that he has to get past. He has been struggling doing it but he will make it!!! He has a HUGE desire to be baptized!! :) He is so awesome!!! We helped him paint his apartment on Saturday and it was so fun!! :):) He comes to church every Sunday!!! We work with quite a few less-actives too!!! I am just so excited to serve here and I know that I am here for a reason!!!
I know that this church is true and that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real and He loves each and every single person on the earth not matter what!! There are a lot of things going on in the world today and we need to make sure that we are doing the things we should and being prepared for anything!!!
I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!!!!!
Have a great week :)

November 16, 2015

Hey family and friends!!!

So I am getting transferred!!! I am super excited because I get to serve with a Sister that I already know and am super close with!! I am going to be serving in Butler PA :) I am super sad to say goodbye, actually just a see you later, to Ephrata but am excited for a new adventure!!

Well this week was pretty slow but on Wednesday we had a Zone Training about getting people to church. It was super good, they talked about how important it is to have members be the one who invites them to come to church and they gave us some suggestions to help us. It was super good!!! So we have been working on getting members to come out with us and invite people to come to church. We had members for lessons but most of our lessons cancelled so that was no bueno! But hey we had 13 less-actives at church on Sunday and an investigator :):) That was soooo awesome!!!!!! The Lord is truly amazing!!! :)

We were suppose to go ice skating with a less-active member and we got there and they said that the open time to skate was going to be later and we had to be in by that time so we just stayed and watched the rest of a hockey game :) It was fun!!!

So I am reading the Book of Mormon over again and looking for things that apply to faith and wow there is a lot!!! But it has been really good learning so much about faith!! Faith can be really hard to have and to exercise it but I know and the Book of Mormon tells us that if we have faith and exercise it that we will be blessed and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will be on our left and on our right!! It has been so awesome to be able to study everyday and to learn more and to work on applying what we learn into our lives. I know that if we apply what we learn in our lives that things will all work out and that we will be blessed SO MUCH!!! I know this church is true with all my heart!!! If you are questioning anything or want to know something, get on your knees and ask God, He will tell you but you also need to remember that you need to ask with intent meaning that you will accept and act on anything you receive!! Also study His words it will help with any question you may have :) He knows us PERFECTLY!!!

Well I love you to the moon and back!!!! :):) Have a fantastic week!!!

Love,
Sister Kierra Wadsworth

PS thanks for all the birthday wishes!!! I had a great birthday :):) Guess who's not a teenager any more :) ME!! Hahahah doesn't really change anything but still cool :) LOVE Y'ALL!! :)

November 9, 2015

Hey family and friends!!!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I appreciate it :)

Well this week was good!!! The work has been kinda slow but we have been working with a lot of less-actives and doing a lot of service :)

One of the lessons we had with a less-active went really weird! Have you ever heard that if the spirit isn't there the lesson doesn't matter? Well that happened this week!! We went to see Amanda, a LA, and she was in a really dark dark place.. We were trying to help her and the spirit was just not there! We would start talking and the spirit would be there and then mid sentence it would just be gone and we wouldn't know what to say!! It was really weird. She is on a medication that really does crazy things to her so hopefully when we see her this week it will be better :) It was just a huge testimony builder of how important the spirit is in EVERYTHING!!! Like literally if the spirit isn't with you there is no point!! That is why we always need to be worthy to have the spirit with us! And other peoples agency can affect it too... It was just a good growing experience to have :)

At church yesterday we had the Burd family come!!! They have been less-active for ever and I have been working with them once a week for the past 6 months helping them come to church and they came!!! It was so amazing to see them there partaking of the special spirit that you feel at church. I was full of joy! That is what makes everything worth it, when you see someone make progression :) They are going to be there next week too, for the primary program :)

This week I started a gratitude journal. It has helped me sooo much!!! Everyday I am looking for the things that I am grateful for and for the things that I have seen God's hand in my life. It has changed my outlook on things immensely!! If you are struggling of any kind, I invite you to start a gratitude journal. It will help you, I promise. Being and thinking positive is one of the best antidotes for someone who is struggling. I have been struggling with some things and I decided to figure things out and get better!! And this is one of the things mom told me to do and I have done it and it has helped me so much!!! And rely on the Lord, ask Him to help you find those good things. You CANNOT do it without Him. I have seen that. I was trying to do it all on my own and oh how I was wrong!! Rely on our Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ, They know us PERFECTLY and They know what we need!! You can do anything with Them by your side!!!! I KNOW THAT AND I PROMISE YOU THEY ARE THERE!!!!!!!!!!

Well I love you all to the moon and back!!! Have a great week, you are in my thoughts and prayers :)

Hey family and friends!!

So this week was pretty good we had interviews with our mission president and he told me that I am being transferred :( Transfers aren't for 2 1/2 weeks though so I still have time :):) My mission president is so in tune with the spirit. He knows exactly what I have been going through. I honestly haven't had the easiest past 4 transfers but I have grown so much and President Johnson helped me see some things that I had never recognized. He told me that I am doing a good job :) It was just bitter sweet!!! He also gave me a priesthood blessing that was so great. It helped me so much!! I love my mission president and his wife!! They are the best!!

We had to stay in on Friday and Saturday night for trick or treating and Halloween so we had to go in at 6pm.. It was really werid.. haha :) This week I went on exchanges with Sister Landa and it was so fun!! I love her sooo much!! I really hope that we get to serve with each other again!!!

So for the work this week, it was good :) We were able to get into a less-actives that the sisters haven't been able to get into for awhile!! It was good. She has a 4 year old son and a fiance who is a non-member, former investigator. Her son has been asking her when they were going to go back to church and she said that it was just the right timing that we came by to remind her of the covenants she has made. It was great and she said that they are going to really try to make it to church in the next couple of weeks :):) All this happened because we got a prompting from the spirit. I can testify that I know that when we commit to follow every single prompting that we receive we will be blessed from. One of the best feelings in the world is when you receive a prompting and it works out!!! And that is what happened!!! :) It was amazing :)

So our investigator who went back to the hospital has not contacted us at all and there is no way to keep in contact with her and so that has been tough but I know that this is something that she has to go through to become stronger and truly rely on Christ. It is one of those trials that is truly going to strengthen her and her testimony especially!! It is hard to see her struggle so much but it is a blessing at the same time to be able to see the Atonement of Christ working in her life and getting a front row seat of it. It builds my testimony of the Saviors amazing grace He has for EVERYONE!!!!

For the past couple of weeks I have been working really hard on relying on the Savior and applying His Atonement fully into my life. It has not been an easy journey being on a mission and going through all the ups and downs that happens but it truly does build my testimony of the Savior. I have really learned to rely on Him and have Him in my life at all times!!  Sometimes it is hard to truly believe that everything will work out but I have come to know that if I have just a little bit of faith and exercise that faith that Heavenly Father will help it grow so that it will become a solid belief with NO doubt that it will work out!! I am not going to lie, sometimes it is still hard to go on but I know that we have a Savior who will be there with opens arms to catch us when we fall and help us get right back up!! I am truly so grateful for this gospel and for the opportunity that I have to share it everyday!! I know that it is true and that it will bless anyone who accepts and lives it! I know my Savior is real and that He loves each and everyone of us no matter who we are He is there!!! Seek Him and look for Him in all things because He truly is there!!

I love you all so much and hope you are all doing good :) Have a great week!!!

Love you to the moon and back!!

October 26, 2015

Hey family and friends!!

Well this week was kinda a tough one.. We dropped some of our investigators so our teaching pool is more of a teaching puddle right now! haha :) We are going to work super hard this week on finding new investigators!!! We were able to have a lot of less-active visits though :) Our investigator who was in the psychiatric hospital got out and went back home but she ended up relapsing pretty bad and went to the ER last night and is probably going back and then to rehab afterwards, hopefully!! We know that it can help her so much!!! She texted us yesterday and told us that she was really struggling it was so hard, I can't even begin to describe to you how I felt. I was super worried about her and I ended up dropping to knees and pouring out my heart to Heavenly Father and asking Him to help me. I was comforted and sure enough, prayers were answered by that night when we found that she was in the hospital getting the help she needed. I can't tell you enough of how much prayer should mean to us and that we should apply the principle of prayer in our daily lives!! I know that prayer is so important and I am so grateful for the power of prayer. I probably wouldn't be here still if prayers weren't answered!! I encourage all of you to start praying morning and night and throughout the day if you aren't doing it already. I promise you that it will help you with whatever you may be doing, it has helped me so much :):)
One of our less-actives we saw this week is progressing. We saw her on Wednesday and she had studied the scriptures and she found some scriptures that she related to what we believe in. She has been feeling the spirit and is liking it :) Who doesn't like feeling the spirit right? haha :) It was so awesome to just the spirit guide us to say what was needed! It was great :):)

This past week I was studying about the life of Paul a little bit. Paul is such an amazing man and missionary. He went through SOOO much but he kept on going. I really do look up to him. Missionary life is hard and sometimes you get to the point that you want to give up and be done with everything!! But just like Paul we have to stick through in relying on the Lord and He will help us. I know this concept to be very very true! Relying on the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ helps us sooo much!!! Look at Paul, he was a Pharisee and went about persecuting the Christians and then he changed and he became an Apostle of the Lord, and he endured through all the personal persecution he received!! I love his story so much and I have been trying to apply what I have learned from Paul's story. It is amazing to read what he did and to ponder on it. I love having the opportunity to study and ponder on the scriptures everyday!!! It is such a blessing to have a set time to study everyday! I love it so much and I have learned a ton from studying :):) It has been great!!!

Well I hope you are all doing good and I hope that you have a great week!!! Love you to the moon and back!
